CompliSpace Pty Ltd, the leading supplier of governance, risk, compliance and policy management solutions for non-government schools across Australia, recently opened a new office in Brisbane to better service clients, accommodate growth and access outstanding local talent with legal and education backgrounds. 

The new office supports CompliSpace’s growth strategy and commitment to having local consultants available to all schools across Australia. It is centrally located, in Fortitude Valley.

“The decision to open an office in Brisbane makes sense because we’ve experienced 200% growth in Queensland in the past 12 months. Laws, regulations and best practices vary across the country, so we wanted to bring local talent into our group to leverage their Queensland expertise,” said CompliSpace Managing Director, James Field.

Robert Walker joins CompliSpace as State Manager, Queensland. Robert has over 20 years of extensive experience in business management, public policy, government relations, stakeholder management and community and media engagement. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland and is an admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Qld. Most recently, Robert held the role of Executive Manager and Company Secretary at the Presbyterian Schools Association (the PMSA), where pertinently, he was responsible for ensuring proper corporate governance within the PMSA and implementing a robust policy to deal with sexual abuse claims in line with the recommendations of the Royal Commission.

“Having worked with four prominent non-state schools, I have experienced firsthand the struggle that schools face to firstly deal with the complexity of remaining compliant and secondly to stay on top of ever changing legislative environment in which they operate. What attracted me to CompliSpace was how the products turn a very complex problem into a simple solution and ultimately allow both school boards and administrators to concentrate on doing what they do best – continuing to provide outstanding education outcomes for kids,” said Robert.

Helen Sloan joins Robert as a Consultant in the Queensland office. Helen has extensive teaching, training, management and leadership development and human resources experience in a range of multi-faceted organisations and industries in both the private and public sector.  After completing her Bachelor of Arts at Sydney University, Helen went on to complete Diploma of Education. After relocating to Queensland, Helen completed a Masters of Business Administration-Human Resources Management and a Bachelor of Law at Queensland University of Technology. Helen is an admitted solicitor at the Supreme Court of Queensland.  Prior to accepting the role with CompliSpace, Helen was working as a teacher at a number of schools including Redlands College and Faith Lutheran College.
